Mayhem Main Event at NBA All-Star Weekend
(AOL Sports)
-
Jason Whitlock: "Good luck fixing All-Star Weekend. The game is a sloppy, boring, half-hearted mess. The dunk contest is contrived and pointless. The celebrity contest is unintended comedy. And, worst of all, All-Star Weekend revelers have transformed the league's midseason exhibition into the new millennium Freaknik, an out-of-control street party that features gunplay, violence, non-stop weed smoke and general mayhem...The game needs to be moved overseas, someplace where the Bloods and Crips and hookers and hoes can't get to it without a passport and plane ticket."Whoah! The always-outspoken Whitlock offers his take on last weekend's NBA All-Star Weekend and I don't find much to disagree with here; usually, I find his views a bit overdone, but I'll give him credit, for calling this as he sees them. Now, as for the alleged madness around the NBA All-Star Weekend in Vegas: I understand that thugs and hoes, and fake thugs and wannabe hoes all need to have an outlet for fun, but their sort of fun seems scares the daylights out of civilian folk. When a 24-hour restaurant in Las Vegas closes down for several hours because the manager of the place fears for the safety of her staff, you know you're working with a rotten, childish crowd. Thugs. All they do is wreck and destroy.
