     2. Race is in the mix as well: White officers, black suspects, a history of friction and mistrust between the police and the black population.
        Arrest alleged perpetrators, yes. Convict them in a court of law, fine. But until we start seeing videotapes of police whaling on white suspects, this story writes itself: it is racially-motivated police brutality. Period.
