Find cheap gas prices in your city.So I'm watching PTI on ESPN, and Wilbon and that boob, Kornheiser, start debating whether or not the price of gas in the States will hit $5 -- because it's a sports show, and gas is a sporting topic, I guess. Anyway, they make a big joke about it, talking about their Range Rovers and whatnot, and I had an epiphany as I watched: if and when the price of gas gets to $5/gallon in the States, it's not going to be a laughing matter. The price of everything goes up at $5/gallon, simply because everything suddenly costs more to transport, to power, to heat, to cool. But, in particular, it's going to be a few degrees north of hell for most people who depend on their cars to commute to work. A car culture like ours is going to have an ugly fight on its hands if gas goes over $5/gallon...forever. (Geo-)politics certainly has a part to play in this, but so does individual choice, like choosing to drive a gas-guzzling SUV, and choosing to live far away from where you spend most of your daily life. In a $5/gallon-world, you're going to have to give more thought to these kinds of things, or you can spend an increasingly large portion of your income on petrol. Resistant Range Rover drivers, bend over and pucker-up, you dumb-*sses!
