The Night My Mac Died. My 7-year old Power Mac 7500/100 died today. I've been thinking about getting a new box for a long time, but just couldn't breakup with my old girl. She knows too many of my secrets. Anyway, sitting here, trying to recuperate, and just fooling around on the computer, she went blip, blip..........bye. And then a burnt-smell. It's probably just a fried power supply. But I guess this is my cue to move on. That's my problem with all things: I hang on to something until it dies, and don't pay attention to the warning signs. If anything, I'm loyal to a fault.
I was hosting the weblog comments on that machine too, so until I get sumthin-sumthin new, I won't be able to add comments to the blog posts. In fact, things will probably be real funky for a while, since I'll have to get another computer, set it up the way I like it, and then move 7 years of stuff from the old one to the new one.
This hasn't been the best week for me: first I get sick, then I catch some rare eye disorder, then the Mac dies. Bad things happen in threes, they say. You can use the "contact" link on the right if you want to drop a line for the time being.
