You Know You're at a Ghetto Movie When... (in the interim blog)

Blogga Miss Elisabeth lays downs the rules for going to see a black movie with a predominantly black audience. BoyCaught concurs. They keep on talking about interactive movies, and whatnot, but African-Americans have been interacting with movies since the days of Oscar Micheaux. BTW, here's some more humor 'bout da hood. (Don't click if you're easily offended.) (Posted by BoyCaught)

Web site offers to sell U.S. presidential votes (CNN)

"A new Web site promises to 'bring capitalism and democracy closer together' by auctioning votes in the 2000 presidential election." BoyCaught thinks that the philosophical merits of this concept really need to be examined. If politicians are bought by monied interests, then why can't individual citizens sell their votes on he open market? (Posted by BoyCaught)

QOTD: “Therein is the tragedy. Each man is locked into a system that compels him to increase his herd without limit -- in a world that is limited. Ruin is the destination toward which all men rush, each pursuing his own best interest in a society that believes in the freedom of the commons. Freedom in a commons brings ruin to all.”

The Tragedy of the Commons, by Garrett Hardin (1968)
BoyCaught would like to remind all greedy folks: save a little somethin' somethin' for the next guy, or there won't be anything left for anyone. (Posted by BoyCaught)
