Chicago removes foie gras from menu
(International Herald Tribune)
-
"Government shouldn't be dictating what we eat," said Rick Tramonto, executive chef at a French restaurant, Tru. "It's just not right."In a city like Chicago, teeming with millions of people and perhaps just as many problems, things such as crumbling infrastructure, a crappy public education system, corruption, crime, violence, and let's not forget rising gas prices, apparently it's salty, fat-soaked paste made from the livers of geese and ducks, that probably 2%, or less, of the population has ever eaten, that gets the attention of local government officials. Animal rights first! We are not going to Hell in a handbasket; we're already there.
