A Nice Place To Visit
-
The way people seem to be feeling these days, as they struggle to return to "normalcy," reminds BoyCaught of a particular "Twilight Zone" episode. It was entitled, "A Nice Place To Visit," and it was about a small-time gangster who dies and ends up in what he thinks is heaven. In this place, he gets everything he ever wants: money, dames, all the right cards in the poker game, and all the control. And he gets everything with impunity, not even a peep from even the police. There are no police, no one to keep him in line. But in this world, everything comes so easy. Too easy. Then one day, he wakes up and he tells the concierge-type guy who's been showing him around that he feels he is in the wrong place. That it's all a big mistake. He doesn't feel right being here and thinks that maybe he should go to the other place. And then concierge man tells him that this is "the other place."
Maybe this is the other place.
